ABOUT US
Grounded in history. Focused on the future.
our history
The Southport Chamber of Commerce has supported local business since 1912, making us the oldest Chamber in South East Queensland.
Established in 1912, the Chamber has grown alongside Southport itself. From early local enterprise through to today’s diverse and dynamic economy, the Chamber has adapted with the region while remaining true to its purpose.
For more than a century, we have played an active role in strengthening the business community across Southport and the broader Gold Coast. Our purpose has remained consistent – to connect businesses, represent their interests, and help create the conditions for long-term economic success.
That history gives us credibility. Our future focus gives us momentum. Today, as the city continues to grow and evolve, our focus is firmly on the future.
OUR VISION
Southport Chamber of Commerce is grounded in history and focused on the future. We connect, inform and advocate for businesses across the Gold Coast, helping them grow, influence the direction of our city, and thrive in a stronger local economy.
Connecting business leaders and future leaders
We create meaningful connections across industries, business sizes and stages. Through curated events, strategic introductions and a vibrant, inclusive network, we help businesses feel part of something bigger than themselves.
Informing with relevance and clarity
We provide trusted insights, briefings and updates that help businesses stay ahead of change. From regulation and planning to economic trends and emerging opportunities across South East Queensland, our focus is on information that matters.
Driving progress and opportunity
We support initiatives that strengthen Southport as a thriving Central Business and Living District. By aligning stakeholders, encouraging collaboration and attracting investment, we help build a city centre designed for long-term economic success.
Remaining open, accessible and people-focused
We welcome businesses of all sizes, sectors and stages. Our role is not to exclude, but to elevate – creating a space where ambition is supported, voices are heard, and the business community moves forward together.
Being a strong, informed voice for business
We actively represent our members’ interests to local, state and federal government. We advocate on policy, planning and economic matters that shape the future of Southport and the wider Gold Coast business community, ensuring business always has a seat at the table.
Our Community
The Chamber exists for the local business community.
Our members range from solo operators and small teams to large organisations and institutions. What unites them is a shared commitment to building a stronger business environment for Southport and the Gold Coast.
